The RDB Star Rating assessments are carried out on an annual basis to an agreed timetable. A list of all the registered care homes in a participating authority’s local area is sent to RDB, who then send an Expression of Interest form together with the fee structure to every home on the list. Once RDB receives the completed Expression of Interest form, the home is sent the registration documentation.

- RDB sends contract and invoice
- Home returns signed contract with payment

- RDB telephones to make an appointment
- Participant’s information, participant’s workbook, staff and resident questionnaires are sent

- Home completes the participant’s workbook
- Confidential resident and staff questionnaires given to complete
CQA Assessment visit
RDB report and awards sent to Home

- Report on strengths and recommendations for development
- Star Rating plaque and certificate
