feedback to homes

The Accreditation Report
Comprehensive feedback is presented to the participating home in the form of an accreditation report. This document contains the star rating achieved, star rating graphs, resident and personnel survey graphs and a summary report, which highlights areas of strength and points the provider to those areas requiring review and development.

The majority of the feedback is graphically represented giving a clear and very visual focus to the outcome which is invaluable, in particular, when sharing the results with staff.

Star Rating Graphs
These graphs depict the home’s attainment against applicable RDB care standards.

The ratings work on a minimum threshold system, with stars being awarded to depict the standard met in care provision across the board.

At the level of the sub-sections (smaller graphs), it is permissible to ‘drop’ one care standard without it affecting the home’s overall star rating. However, if it drops below the highest stars achieved in 2 or more care standards in a sub-section, it will affect their overall star rating. (See Example)

Staff and Behaviour Attitudes

Resident & Personnel Survey Graphs
Each resident and member of staff is given a confidential questionnaire to complete prior to the day of the assessment. Although the results of these surveys do not affect the home’s star rating, they provide valuable feedback to the home and give the opportunity to involve both residents and staff in its future development.

Resident Survey Results give feedback on how residents perceive the quality of care which they receive.

Personnel Survey Results give feedback on how employees perceive their enablement to do their job.

The Summary Report
The RDB summary report highlights strengths within the home and identifies the RDB care standards which should be reviewed over the coming year before their next RDB assessment.
