the RDB accreditation

The RDB accreditation is an annual quality cycle. It is client focused and designed to apply to private, voluntary and local authority care establishments in a non-discriminatory way. As many of the RDB care standards are based on outcomes of care, the scheme is applicable to small and large providers, as well as homes providing care to clients with varying levels of dependency and needs.

RDB awards between 2 to 5 stars for the care and services provided by the home, it does not take into account the property itself. The property is measured by different criteria for which crowns are awarded. However, a home cannot receive a crown award, until it has achieved a minimum 4 star rating, for its care and services.
