Independent Care Inspection Company Changing the Industry

Social care expert wins top award by leading business magazine

RDB Star Rating is delighted that company director and founder, Sue Brand, who has spent most of her working life committed to improving the lives of vulnerable people living in care homes, has won a 2018 CEO Today award for her contributions to the social care sector.

Established in 1997, RDB is an independent inspection company focusing exclusively on the outcomes of care to provide a real measure of the ‘quality of life’ for residents.

RDB products and assessments are based on the principles of best practice benchmarking and are accredited by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service), to the international and European standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012, for inspection bodies.

Accreditation ensures RDB provide an inspection service that enables care home providers to deliver a quality service for services, meets best practice for standards of care while providing value for money to commissioners.

The process confirms that RDB’s Star Rating system provides a mark of quality for the regulator, commissioners, families and residents and is an excellent means for a provider to make their commitment to quality, visible and measurable.

Professor Martin Green, Chief Executive of Care England, said: “The RDB Star Rating scheme has been at the forefront of measuring quality in residential care services for many years. At a time when the quality of the care services is constantly being scrutinised, the news that this excellent scheme has been accredited by UKAS gives care providers and the public an independently accredited view of quality. RDB Star Rating is an independently accredited and universally acclaimed mark of quality.”
