RDB Assessing Care Homes in Blackpool

Calling all care homes in Blackpool – if you are interested in joining our quality scheme this year you can now register for your annual RDB Assessment.  The RDB System supports and promotes care providers committed to delivering ‘quality’ outcomes for their residents. It can also help you to prepare for your next CQC inspection, as well as assist you in making sure that you have the right documentation, policies, processes and procedures in place, to achieve a good or outstanding CQC grade.

The introduction of CQC’s new tougher framework of inspections, the workplace pension, the increase in the living wage and the continued underfunding of care home fees by Local Authorities, has made it a very challenging time for care providers.

RDB is the only company in the UK accredited by UKAS, as an inspection body for Adult Social Care Providers in the Residential Care home sector, in accordance with the recognised International Standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012.

The RDB Star Rating System was developed and designed in 1997 as a dynamic and responsive measurement tool, to ensure the assessment is both comprehensive and reliable and absolutely focused on the needs of residents.  It has proved to be a powerful management tool in the development of outstanding care businesses.

The RDB model evaluates homes against more than 200 RDB care standards, collecting 10 to 16 items of evidence for each standard.  These care standards are drawn from best practice research across the care sector and are tempered by what is realistic and achievable, thus reflecting what good care providers do naturally.

RDB compliments the CQC inspections and therefore can assist homes with their compliance.  All the evidence which the RDB Assessor collects during their visit has been updated this year and cross referenced against CQC’s Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs).  This ensures that if you have an RDB assessment, you have the evidence in place, or know what evidence you should have in place and where to find it, when you have your next unannounced CQC inspection.

The assessments in Blackpool are taking place in June and July this year, therefore if you would like to participate in the RDB Star Rating Scheme, or require further information, please contact Linette Petrillo by email at linette.petrillo@rdbstar-rating.com or telephone 01273 411811.
