RDB is celebrating its fourteenth year of the scheme in the Lancashire Local Authority Area and participating homes have demonstrated a real commitment to providing quality care over the years. RDB Star Rating recently published their Star Rating Awards for these care homes and we are proud to say that 89% of the homes that were assessed, have achieved 5 stars, which denotes excellent standards of care.
The Manager of Bushell House said: “Everyone involved at Bushell House, trustees, management, staff and residents feel this external, independent quality mark actually cements what we are trying to achieve; a high quality, caring, home from home for our residents.”
Sue Brand, Managing Director of RDB Star Rating said: “RDB Star Rating was established in 1997 to develop an independent assessment system specifically for the Care Sector, to identify and promote ‘quality’ providers to the public and to drive up standards.” She goes on to say, “RDB has recently been successfully accredited by UKAS* as an inspection body in accordance with the recognised International Standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012. We are very proud to be the first company in the United Kingdom to achieve this award, which is specifically for inspecting Adult Social Care Providers, in the Residential Care home sector.”
Professor Martin Green, Chief Executive of Care England, commented: “RDB Star Rating has been at the forefront of measuring quality in residential care services for many years. At a time when the quality of care services is constantly being scrutinised, the RDB Star Rating Scheme is independently accredited and is a universally acclaimed mark of quality.“
